Q. I am a complete beginner will I be ok to take the course?

There is a course suitable for everyone whether you are just starting on a new career or developing an existing skill.

Q. Do I have to complete a manicure and pedicure course prior to an enhancement course?

Manicure & Pedicure are the foundations of any nail treatment and are required in all 3 systems (Liquid Powder, Gel & Silk) I would highly recommend you complete these courses first then move onto gel level one. They will help you to understand the structure of nails and provide an introduction into the industry.  The courses are split to give you the choice whether to do both or just Manicure.

Q. How will I be accessed?

  • You will be required to take a short test to ensure you have understood the subject taught.
  • Oral questions will be asked throughout your training on theory, practical application and maintenance.
  • Study periods may be done at leisure using the fully comprehensive training manuals provided.

Q. What happens if I fail my written test or practical application?

Should you fail to complete the course successfully, extra tuition will be provided free of charge.

Q. What will I achieve?

All students completing their training successfully are awarded industry recognised diplomas, which qualifies them to register with The Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists and to offer treatments.

Q. Is there any extra equipment/materials I will need additional to my kit?

As a new nail technician there will be various items you will need in order to perform nail treatments, I will provide information on items you will need to purchase and where to purchase them from.

Q. I've heard about Nail Trainers, is it needed?

A Nail trainer is a great way for you to practice your application technique in your free time. These are a good investment and can be used time and time again. Even the professionals still have their trainers as it enables them to try out new designs when a model isn't available.

As a new nail technician there will be various items you will need in order to perform nail treatments, I will provide information on items you will need to purchase and where to purchase them from.

Q. Is it possible to pass in 2 days?

There are a lot of companies in the industry that offer 2 day intensive courses. By the end of the course you will be able to perform the application of nail extensions, overlays and maintenance. Becoming a successful and skilled nail technician requires dedication, application skills and lots of practice. A manual will be provided for a permanent source of information which you can read at your leisure, without me charging you for the time. Should you encounter any problems, I offer free advice and guidance after your course. However, The LeChat systems are very easy to apply, learners very rarely experience any problems.

Q. Does this course lead to an NVQ?

No.  It is impossible to gain an NVQ in 2 days.  NVQ's take many months with a lot of theory and many written assessments, which can be very frustrating.  I have tailored the courses to enable more students to gain a recognised qualification in the shortest possible time.

Q. Do I need to bring a model?

Yes you will need to provide a model for each course and the same model were required. It is vital you choose a reliable person and no bitten nails.

Q. What should I wear?

A uniform is not required but is recommended for the protection of your clothing, however if this is not possible, all students are required to wear clean suitable comfortable clothing, hair must be tied away from your face and no jewellery with the exception of a wedding band. Uniforms can be purchased from Nail and Beauty Training.

Q. What are my career prospects?

On completion of your course you can virtually start working straight away with practice. There are different avenues you can take:

  • Mobile Nail Technician (Visiting clients in their homes)
  • Salon Nail Technician (Working with a team of beauticians)
  • Cruise Technician (A great opportunity to see the world)

Without professional qualifications or training, it can be difficult to build a successful business in the beauty industry. The beauty industry is one of the most appealing and satisfying industries to work within and it has increasingly grown over the years. There is a high demand for professionally qualified nail technicians, both male and female.

Q. What if I feel I need extra tuition before I am confident?

If you find yourself needing extra tuition, your educator will be happy to assist you. Your first session will be free of charge (mileage charge's apply)
